This client was looking to decarbonise their home and vastly reduce their regular energy import costs. Our solar system design experts worked in conjunction with our recommended ASHP installers to design, supply and install this 10kWp solar array and dual Tesla Powerwall system alongside a Valliant ASHP.

Warrantied for 25-years, this solar array paired with the latest Enphase microinverter technology is capable of producing a massive 10,000 kWh from the property’s South East facing roof.

The dual Tesla Powerwalls provide a generous 27kWh of energy storage capacity and a superb 10kW discharge rate to assist in running both the house and ASHP loads. In addition to this, the Powerwalls provide power in the event of a grid outage meaning this property will continue to have both power and heating in such events. Even the solar will continue to generate, topping the batteries back up.

A MyEnergi Eddi was also installed to divert excess solar energy to heat water throughout the summer months, reducing the load on the ASHP and further energy import costs.

Via the comprehensive Enphase monitoring software supplied as standard, it can be seen that in the first 6-months of installation running mid-July to mid-January the property has been independent of the grid for four of these months. Paired with the right energy tariff the 2MWh of exported energy in the summer months are hugely offsetting the 1.4MWh of energy imported in the winter for heating via the ASHP.
