JPS Group is joining Good Energy
With the acquisition of this leading South-East based solar and storage installer, Good Energy can now offer premium solar installation services across the South
Since Good Energy created the first tariff for home owners with solar to get paid for the power they share way back in 2004, to today when we are the UK’s largest voluntary administrator of the Feed-in-Tariff with over 180,000 customers, solar has always been core to our business and our purpose.
Our acquisition of WessexECOenergy last year was our first step into installation services, and today we are making an exciting next step with the acquisition of JPS Group.
JPS is a leading solar and storage installation business with 58 staff based in Maidstone in Kent, serving the South-East and London. In addition to the installation business, it also owns and operates Trust Solar — a solar wholesaler and distribution business.
As a specialist offering high quality products from brands including Enphase and Tesla, with a five star rating from customers on TrustATrader and Which? Trusted Trader approved service, JPS are a premium provider that fits with Good Energy’s commitment of offering premium, trusted service to customers.
Solar continues to surge in the UK. After a strong growth in 2022, 2023 saw another 38% increase in smaller (sub 50kW) installations. And demand for solar has been pronounced in the south, which is why Good Energy is focusing on offering premium solar installation services across the region — Wessex ECOenergy in the South-West and now JPS in the South-East.
Nigel Pocklington, CEO, Good Energy said:
“Solar is experiencing a boom in the UK and its role in decarbonising our energy system is absolutely crucial. Installlations are back at the peak we saw during the introduction of the Feed-in-Tariff — another period in which Good Energy was a key player, leading to our position as the largest voluntary administrator of the scheme today with over 180,000 solar generator customers.
“JPS has carved out its position as a leading installer across the South East region, serving as the solar specialist for larger homes and properties with more complex requirements. It is growing at a significant rate to help supply a specific market that is demanding premium clean energy products and services, which Good Energy is well positioned to provide as a premium and trusted truly green energy supplier.”
Richard Cromarty, Managing Director, JPS Renewable Energy said:
“As one of the largest and most successful solar installation businesses in the South-East, JPS has seen rapid growth particularly over the past two years. We’ve solidified ourselves as a premium provider with top tier products from high quality brands, backed by an expert team of designers, engineers and installers.
“We are ready to take our business to new levels now and Good Energy, as a visionary business committed to renewables and an incredibly strong legacy in solar, is the perfect partner to do that with.”
